Sometimes Travel Stinks, but...
Sometimes travel can stink, but thanks to the wonders of a wireless world it's not all that bad. Today, I thought we had this travel logistics thing licked. I was coming in from Birmingham (the usual travel work week done). The girls were returning from their vacation (another benefit their shameless life of leisure affords them). We were supposed to arrive 5 mins apart, leaving time for me to get off my plane, jump the Skylink train, pick up the car and meet them at their baggage claim. Well thanks to storms in the Upper Midwest, air traffic out of O'Hare is delayed 3.5 hrs - too little to go home, too much to twiddle my thumbs/walk slow/or any other minor time waste you can come up with. So, enter the greatness of the wireless day pass. Here I am, sitting here in the Admirals club at DFW where I can catch up on some work, mess around, and answer some emails that are long past due. Pretty sweet compared to the old days (counting the times the janitors clean out the restrooms across from the gate, contemplate buying that bag of lemon drops that's been hanging on the shelf at the sundry shop for 12 1/3 yrs, ... you name it). This isn't all that bad!!
